Importance of water and nutrition for skin health

“You are what you eat” is an adage that has never failed to be true. Yes, the process of having the beautiful skin starts from the nourishment within. I know and very well accept that every one of us has some or the other very satisfying and favorite beauty products, but then the magic that proper diet does on the skin is irreplaceable.

Water: I just can’t say it enough times, how important water is for overall health. Think about water as a medium that flushes toxins out of our body. So even if you want to detoxify yourself, water comes first. Our skin is a reflection of our overall health. An adequate consumption of water also helps in proper absorption of all the nutrients of the food. It maintains optimum skin moisture, increases the elasticity and delays the signs of ageing thus gives us an ultimate beauty boost.

New saying: Eight glasses of water a day keeps the dermatologists away.

Do you Know: Drinking a glass of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon juice every morning kicks off your metabolism and improves your gut health

Food: Wrinkles and age spots are inevitable, but still the aging of the skin can be delayed with the right diet, natural skincare products, and proper exercising. Let your skin breathe, treat it kindly and optimize your nutrition by eating antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables. Rule of the thumb is trying to eat colors at a time. The more colorful your plate is, the more nutritious it will be. Also, include healthy fats ( like present in nuts and avocadoes ) in your diet and focus more on vitamin A, C and E rich food. They are super good for a glowing and radiant skin.

Lastly, along with following the above suggestions, also make it a point to stay happy and positive. Our inner peace and happiness truly make us look good.

Remember, beauty is not skin deep. What we are within, reflects at our face.
